Megan's Turn

I've been posting a lot about Mason lately so this time it's going to be all about Megan (Mason thinks it's all about Megan every day, but that's another story...)

Here are a few shots showing how sweet this little girl can be...

wearing her brother's fireman helmet...

giving me her best smile as she says "cheese"...

and pointing to (ok picking) her nose when you ask her where it is...

And then a couple showing what a stinker she can be...

climbing up onto the ottoman and giving a big "haha" laugh

and about to stand up in the chair with a big "look at me mom" laugh. She knows I immediately am going to say "sit down", which she does very obediently, but then she continues to laugh and proceeds to stand up again.

Well that's it for now. I had a cute video of Megan doing the Itsy Bitsy Spider but I couldn't shrink it enough to fit on the blog. I'll try again another time. Take care!

Snow Day #4

Last Wednesday, Mason's school had it's 4th snow day. I stayed home from work as well and Mason, Megan and I watched the snow come down from our cozy living room while Jeff and Uncle James braved the storm and worked all day. I think this probably means that Mason will have make up days until the middle of JULY!!!! Seriously, I'm glad they take the kids safety to heart when they decide on these cancellations. Here are a couple of pictures from the day.

Mason spent most of the day working on his Pyrate Legos.

Mason enjoyed a nice cup of hot chocolate after coming in from playing outside in the snow.

Here are a couple of shots from outside that evening. It might be hard to see but we had a 3-4 foot drift of snow hanging over our front porch. It was pretty cool to see.

Well, I didn't get any pictures of Megan that day. I'll make up for it in the next post. Take care!

Child of the Week

This is a special week for Mason - he is Child of the Week at school! That means he gets to do things like be the line leader, show and talk about his All About Me poster, and he got to have Jeff and I in his classroom yesterday for an hour to do whatever we wanted. We chose to have a snack - goldfish crackers/cookies and Water (since it is W week), do a craft and read the book "How Do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food?" Mason also got to bring in a cool Pirate Ship craft we did recently (see photo). We had a blast with the kids! They were all so sweet and inquisitive and wanted us to look at and admire their crafts as they did them.

Here is the pirate ship craft we did at home. It took hours, a lot of patience and a lot of late night work by Daddy. You probably can't tell, but it is made out of individual colored cubes about 3/4 inch in diameter. You had to stick every single one of them on in the appropriate places to make it look like a ship.

Here I am reading the book to the kids. They sat and listened so intently and of course laughed at all the right parts (when the dinosaur flips his spaghetti in the air and when he burps and belches).

Here is a picture of them listening. At the end, we talked about all the things we should and shouldn't do when we are sitting at the table eating a meal. One little girl said that we shouldn't pee in our chair. I couldn't argue with her on that one.

Mason got to walk Jeff and I around his classroom and point out all the projects they have made. Here he is pointing to a Christmas ornament of his.

The kids get a fun money dollar for each day that they make it through on "Green Light" versus Yellow or Red Light. On the day we were there, Mason happened to get his 5th dollar and so he got to shop at the "class store".

And of course, here some pictures of our adorable litle Megan. Jeanie (our sitter) captured this one of her the other day.

If there is an empty laundry basket anywhere upstairs, she will find it, sit in it, and wine until you push her around. I think Daddy started that one.

And here is a shot of Megan and her Papa (one of her favorite people and vice versa).

Well, I will try to get another post out within the week. I hope everyone stays safe in the storm we are getting (in Wisconsin) tonight and tomorrow!
